Specimen Requirement
<p>1 Light Blue Top/1.0 mL plasma.<strong>Place light blue top in warm water immediately after draw until specimen is centrifuged. After centrifugation, remove plasma and place in a plastic transport tube. *Make certain to label the transfer tube "Plasma from Light Blue Top" in addition to the patient's demographics.<br /></strong></p>

Keep warm until separated. After separating specimen is stable for 7 days refrigerated.

Clinical Use
<p>Detect cold precipitable fibrinogen. Cryofibrinogen has been reported in association with coagulation disorders, malignancies, phlebitis of pregnancy, inflammatory processes including neonatal infections, the use of oral contraceptives, and with scleroderma.</p>
