Specimen Requirement
<p>Sterile swab culturette, identify source. <strong>Keep swab moist with transport media by re-inserting completely into tube. Do not refrigerate.</strong> Bacterial pathogens normally sought in routine culture include Neisseria gonorrhoeae(GC), yeast, Streptococcus agalactiae (GROUP B), Gardernella vaginalis, and Staphylococcus aureus. Note: Routine genital culture is not for the diagnosis of herpes or chlamydiae.</p>
