MANGANESE, SERUM

<p>Patient should be encouraged to discontinue nutritional supplements, vitamins, minerals and non-essestial over the counter medicatiion.</p> <p>Draw blood in <strong>DARK BLUE, NO ADDITIVE </strong>tube. Spin, separate and send 2.0 mL serum room temperature in an approved metal free screw-capped plastic vial (available from lab). Separate serum from cells within 6 hours. Indicate "serum/dark blue" on transport tube.</p>

 

If sample is drawn and stored in the appropriate container, the trace element values do not change with time.
